Who are we?

WASP NZ Ltd is a wholly New Zealand owned ISP and IT Services Company which has its origins as a public bulletin board service in 1989. Internet Hawkes Bay became a registered company in 1994 and in December 2007 became what we are today - WASP New Zealand Ltd.

WASP has strong relationships with a variety of IT suppliers ranging from software suppliers such as Microsoft, to hardware suppliers such as Insite Technology Ltd and Cisco. This gives our staff the ability to successfully tailor IT solutions for everyone from home users to complex company networks. WASP NZ Ltd believes in investing in its staff, ensuring our technical and sales staff have the knowledge to support all our vendors solutions.

Our goal is to build value into the relationship we have with our customers, suppliers and people. We believe we do this by offering a broad range of choices and by going the "extra mile".

What's our story?

1989: WASP NZ Ltd has its beginnings at the start of the public use of the Internet. We started in 1989 initially offering a public bulletin board service the ancestor to today's World Wide Web. Today we now offer a full range of Internet access products to home and business customers.

1991: In response to demand from customers and the increasing affordability of PC's, we started offering computer, networking and support services.

1994: With the advent of the World Wide Web and email, dial-up Internet services commenced. Internet Hawke's Bay was officially registered as a limited liability company and began offering Broadband Wireless Internet services, another first for Hawke's Bay. Today we enjoy hosting a substantial modern multi frequency, public spectrum and wireless services covering the region.

1996: In July 1996 we relocated to our current premises at 68 Bower Street, Napier. With the new location came the ability to offer expanded operations such as our nationwide dialup service, broadband wireless, ADSL, and domain name, mail and website hosting.

2007: In December 2007 we started offering ADSL services and at the same time rebranded as WASP NZ Ltd to reflect our new nationwide presence.
